History

Cheran College of Pharmacy (CCOP) – preserves the pride of first pharmacy college in Tamil Nadu state. The college was incepted in the year 1992 and it is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) with an admission strength of 60 in B.Pharm, 30 in Pharm.D and 21 in M.Pharm.

Pharmacy is not just a drug store. The medicine that is prescribed by the registered medical practitioner undergoes several stages ranging from the preparation of bioactive substance, chemical analysis and pharmaceutical formulation before it reaches the hands of the patient.

Pharmacists play a key role in the entire drug manufacturing process and it is not the end point. Pharmacists study and monitor all the medicines and products with market survey for the adverse drug reaction to research and develop medicine in multitudes. WHO has announced approximately 2.6 million pharmacists and other pharmaceutical professionals across the globe.

Cheran College of Pharmacy is based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu state of Southern India.
