Central and Department Libraries

Cheran College of Pharmacy has a Central Library and a College Library, both located in the Library Block. In addition, each department has its own Department Library with essential books related to the specific field of study.

Library Timings

Regular Working Hours

  • Open from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM on all working days.
  • Open throughout the year except on public holidays.

Library Facilities

Book Lending System

  • Students can borrow up to 2 books for a period of 7 days.
  • Lending is done through ID cards with barcode scanning for quick and easy check-outs.

Reading Area

  • A spacious and quiet reading zone with 100+ seating capacity is available.
  • Designed to offer a peaceful learning atmosphere for pharmacy students.

Digital and Computerized Access

  • The entire library is fully computerized with automated services.
  • Separate sections for:
    • Textbooks
    • Reference Books
    • Journals & Periodicals
    • Project Reports
    • Back Volumes
    • Internet Access

Additional Services

  • Photocopying Facility inside the library for quick document copying.
  • Locker System in the Central Library:
    • Available for one-day use.
    • Keys can be collected from the librarian.

E-Resources and Digital Access

Students have access to a wide range of e-journals, e-books, and online learning materials. These digital resources support advanced research and help students stay updated with the latest in pharmaceutical sciences.

Library Rules and Guidelines

All students must follow the library rules to ensure a smooth and academic-friendly environment:

Entry & Exit

  • Sign the entry register before entering the library.
  • Use the barcode scanner at entry/exit points with your college ID card.

Conduct

  • Maintain silence and discipline inside the library.
  • Personal books and notebooks are not allowed (only loose sheets are permitted for taking notes).

Book Responsibility

  • Borrowed books must be handled with care.
  • Any damage will make the student liable for replacement.

Clearance Certificate

  • A ‘No Dues Certificate’ will be issued only after all borrowed materials are returned.
